  • Great episode. I strongly believe that Passion is important, if you are anything like me. I know that there are a lot of people out there who make a ton of cash doing things online that they don’t care about. But, if I’m going to be the one producing the content (which is the foundation of being a mediapreneur), I have to be passionate about it.

That’s the only way for me to motivate myself to continue producing awesome content, even when I’m facing some of the things in my online business that I hate doing.

    Thanks for another great episode!

Leslie – Totally agree (obviously). Mediapreneurship is definitely a field/path that requires a buttload of it…and I think that is a good thing.

  • Debbie Saviano

Loved this Interview. I really need to get some new words to say after watching the Interviews but seems they are all so very good –that my natural first words are Love It! –Just comes Natural. Scott was open, honest and informative in his advice for those seeking a new pathway.
A side note; I signed up for the Go to my PC. Tool Cool as always have the Ipad with us and now can use the computer as well. Awesome advice.
PS-Rangers coming to St. Louis tonite –Tried to think of a Challenge I could offer that we could partake of considering who won—-however, you are such a wild and crazy guy I was afraid the challenge might be more than I was ready for 🙂

Debbie – Great to hear! I ALWAYS Appreciate your comments. Makes me day. Hahaha, 1-0 Cardinals 🙂 Hope your boys are ready tonight.

  • Hi David,
I just discovered Rise a few days ago via your Marie Forleo interview and have literally spent hours devouring your content.  I’ve had a fledgling internet marketing business for a few years now but I’m still trying to find out what my main focus should be.  Your interviews with Marie, Pat Flynn and Scott Dinsmore have really inspired me and the ideas are flying around my head right now.  Thanks for such a wonderful resource – you too are an inspiration.  I look forward to learning more and discovering more incredible people.

Nicola – AWESOME to hear and welcome to the community!

  • Good work guys! It’s time to bring more awareness with our blogs to doing what we love and give tools to people to do so. I think we’re there now as societies. Anyways, great advices!

    • David Siteman Garland

Marie-Eve so glad you enjoyed 🙂

  • Great interview! I came across this through Scott’s mailing list. Perfect timing watching this as I’ve had a few challenges come up today and this week, but your conversation reminded me to continue following my passion as an entrepreneur, and to keep moving forward regardless of the challenges that come up. Thanks again, and I’m looking forward to following your work.

    • David Siteman Garland

Awesome, Kris. Welcome to RISE. Always glad to serve up some inspiration 🙂

  • In some respects I think we can also get too caught up in the “passion” thing. Being passionate about something can also be misleading in terms helping you break free from your normal routine and developing the new you.

I think many people starting out think they know what they want but don’t really, because you don’t know yourself fully until you get out there and try stuff.

That’s why I like Davids point. Just get out there and do something. I mean if you only have one hobby and are not interested in anything else, by all means try it. But if you have many interests it might be a sign that you haven’t fully explored all your options.

It might be a sign that you have a higher calling you need to rise up to.

I do believe sometimes we have to do what we don’t like to get to what we want. I don’t mean something we hate, I mean something uncomfortable. Even if you follow what you think is you’re one true calling you’ll definitely have to get to a point where you’re uncomfortable and scared and that’s a good thing.

Following your passion doesn’t mean staying in a corner and not allowing yourself to grow into the best person you can become. Life is too short for that.
