Welcome to Fight Week on The Rise To The Top. This week on the show…all fighters.

Yes, all three things are mentioned in this interview. Ponytails. Check. Punches. Check. Poop. Check.

Fun fact: Ryan will be taking on Tito Ortiz in the octagon on July 2nd at UFC 132.

Oh, and the sweet potato recipe I mentioned to Ryan off air came from former guest Kim Murgatroyd.

About Today’s Guest, Ryan Bader :

Ryan BaderRyan Bader was a contestant on season 8 of The Ultimate Fighter. He was the first light heavyweight selected by Coach Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira, winning his first 3 fights on the show to earn a spot in the finals.

Bader defeated Vinicius Magalhães at The Ultimate Fighter 8 Finale, earning the title of “The Ultimate Fighter” and winning a six-figure UFC contract. He won the fight after catching Magalhães with an overhand right that dropped him and followed up with strikes on the ground to take the win.

Ryan Bader returned at UFC Fight Night 18, facing off against Carmelo Marrero and ended up winning the fight by unanimous decision (30–27, 30–27, 30–27). During the match, Bader tore his medial collateral ligament and posterior cruciate ligament.

Bader, along with fellow Ultimate Fighter winner Efrain Escudero, appeared in the video game for the UFC entitled UFC 2009 Undisputed. He and Efrain Escudero were available for download by using a special code obtained by pre-ordering the game from Gamestop. Although, on September 10, 2009, he and Escudero were made available for download on Playstation Network and Xbox 360 Marketplace.

His next fight was against Eric Schafer on October 24, 2009, at UFC 104. The fight was mainly dominated by Bader, who utilized great combinations in his stand-up and control on the ground, ending with an unanimous decision victory by the score of (29-26, 30-27 and 30-27) for Bader.

Bader next faced Keith Jardine on February 21, 2010 at UFC 110. Bader finished the fight after rocking Jardine with a flying knee to the chest, followed up by a left hook at 2:10 of the third round.
