The “deal of the day” debate and data continues to unfold. Some people love it. Others despise it like the plague of death (not really exaggerated). There are all kinds of players in the “deal of the day” game, with of course all kinds of differences in how they operate, how it works, etc. – ranging from Adility to Hot Sauce. There is no denying of course that the 800 pound gorilla in the room is Groupon, which was recently valued at over $1 billion (yes with a “b”, like “bling”). Great for Groupon, but what about local businesses using the service? Is it worth it? Is it a good idea? What kinds of expectations should a local business have?
