Today on The Rise To The Top: The #1 Non-Boring Business Show: One of the most popular reoccuring guests on The Rise To The Top is my buddy Lewis Howes. Lewis has already been on the show twice before. The first time, he told us his story about how he went from injured football star to LinkedIn expert with over 1 million in sales. The second time, he took us behind the scenes of his most recent product launch. And now he is back for a discussion on success and how you can apply it your business/life. Enjoy!

I use RISE partner Wistia for video hosting because they rock. Check ’em out.

Have You Seen These Episodes?

  • What’s interesting about this is even though its like a casual chit chat conversation, there’s enough info here to really bullet point a plan to build a killer personal brand… Crazy that you can cram that into 30 minutes and not even really mean to

    • David Siteman Garland

We were in the flow 🙂

  • Sidney Williams

Hi David! Awesome shows, love the “Behind the Entrepreneur”
aspect of the shows!  As well as more
niche-subject shows such as this one. Lewis’ interviews have all been a fun

I’m pretty bummed I only found you a few months ago, so I’ve
been rifling through episodes quickly. Amazing to watch the transformation of
the show, your presentation style, the physical transformation, and theme song
(the one from The Million Dollar Man made me laugh, lol (in a good way)).

I’ve watched enough shows that my girlfriend, who tends to
be focused on something else while I’m watching, refers to you as “the guy with
the coffee” and is always asking why you talk about bunnies, lol. I told her
you were a bunny-breeder (I think I forgot to correct that, ha).

Regarding your more niche shows, such as this, I think it’s awesome
to experiment – there are so many facets of a person’s story that if you wanted
to categorize interviews into The Beginning, Strategy, Philosophy, etc, etc, it
would be easy to do so. Or you could just throw them up there at random, either
way. If you’re ever bored, you have so much awesome content that compilation
shows of short clips would be very cool to see as well. Each guest usually has
a slightly different angle on a core concept, and at least for me, the typical
ignorant entrepreneur, it’s extremely important to be given a fresh reminder to
    maintain personal focus.

Either way, definitely don’t hesitate to bring back guests
like Lewis. The friendship and chemistry adds to the show’s entertainment.

P.S. Love the seemingly spontaneous clips on the personal

    • Apologies about the formatting, not sure what happened there!

    • David Siteman Garland

Sid – Haha, thanks man your comments just made my day! Appreciate the feedback big time. My goal with The Rise To The Top is really simple when you cut to it which is: Teach people through my own experience and through the stories/insights of others on how to take a topic you love/passion/expertise and turn it into a business.

And anything to help that mission is a win 🙂

  • You are both Rockstars! Maybe a better word than champions? haha! At least for men it is! I so enjoyed this…I really like the Law of Reciprocity  that Lewis always mentions in his interviews. You both do it, again and again and that (I feel) is the reason for your success. (Both of you) Giving unconditionally. It has worked for mothers for years 🙂 It is satisfying. Contentment and success follows. Terrific Interview from both of you!

    • David Siteman Garland

       Thanks M! really appreciate it!

  • Nice candid discussion on strategy, motivation, and business philosophy! As a corporate trainer, I have delivered many types of employee training at an enterprise level. It was great to learn more about Lewis and his awesome professional journey. When Lewis used the term “facilitate” to explain his delivery style, it brought a smile to my face. We all share the desire to help people.

I don’t believe you can teach social behavior like you can a skill set. People have the initiative or they don’t to take action. You can however, impart knowledge, understanding, awareness, and even influence others based on the connection you have with them. I appreciated this episode. It’s been a while since I visited the site. Glad I did. Great energy, vibe, and inspiration on this episode gentlemen. Keep on rocking!

    • David Siteman Garland

Vilma – Appreciate the comments and I love that concept as well (facilitating).

I agree re: social behavior, but I think it is a combo of nature/nature.

  • David, this is awesome!  Met Lewis a few years ago and he follows my philosophy and personal motto:

The Real Currency is “Relationship Riches” – Sherrie Rose
When you => Make Others Feel Like Champions – you tap into a deep desire to be recognized.  This has even more impact when you give without any intention of being recognized.  It is people that enrich your life and fuel your success.

    Thank you for sharing!

    Sherrie Rose

    • David Siteman Garland

Glad you enjoyed it Sherrie. All about relationships!

  • Guy Davis

Great interview David, both of you guys rock. I know Lewis is here in Texas this week for SXSW, but I am going to talk to him about coming back for a program to get college students using LinkedIn.

    • David Siteman Garland

       He is great people 🙂

  • Excellent video.  I’ve connected with Lewis a few months back but haven’t really had the chance to interact.  One thing I know for sure though is that he knows his LinkedIn stuff.  There have been several video tutorials that I found on the web where he explains in detail how to better utilize LinkedIn for business.

    Great interview as usual.

    • David Siteman Garland

Awesome, yes, Lewis offers all kinds of great value!

  • Awesome as always David. I love Lewis and always get so much value out of everything he does. I got his webinar book and it’s so good. I’m doing webinars now and loving it.

Keep up the great job David. You show rocks and always makes me a smarter business person.

    • David Siteman Garland

Agreed it definitely, definitely rocks 🙂 And thanks for the kind words!
