      The keyword research is HUGE. Totally game changing. James’ Video Traffic Academy product covers it, but it really clicked here when he mentioned the spreadsheet. I spent a few hours today implementing this and realized that my audience won’t search for “branding”. They instead search for logos. Booooom.

    Hey David….I use a landing page service called Unbounce.com. It’s okay, but When I hear you guys talk about leadpages it sounds like I should be checking it out to see if it has advantages over Unbounce. Went to their site and went through as much info as I could on line and was impressed…but nowhere did it say whether I can use extensions of my own domain as a url to landing pages. With adwords, you must have a domain that you own to promote pages….Unbounce allows that. As a side note: I was surprised to see how difficult it was to get answers to sales questions at leadpages….you have to post it on a facebook page (who’s last post was on July 6, five days ago) not sure if or when I might hear from them. So here I am a serious buyer, ready to make the switch…and no place to go to get the answers I need. Weird.

    • Ric – I’m sure the folks from Leadbrite will hop in and answer it for you here, not the experience I’ve had with their support (which rocks). Yes, you can use your own domain. For example: http://www.createawesomeonlinecourses.com is a leadpage and so is http://www.therisetothetop.com/courses

        I did finally hear back from them with a FB post response. The only way you can use your own domain name for a page with leadpages is to host your page on your own website, which is what you are doing. To host your page on their website it requires use of their domain name, which by the way cannot be used on an adwords ad. With Unbounce.com they allow you to use your own domain name and still host on their site. So I can have unlimited number of landing pages with my domain and an extention (www.myname.com/free offer) and use that domain name in any number of adwords ads. Otherwise google won’t allow it. That could be a deal breaker for me….but I am still researching pros and cons.

    Good points. I’m a member of Video Traffic Academy and I’m wondering if there is a way to adapt some of these concepts for independent artists and musicians because I’m not sure keyword research has any effect when you are promoting your own music. Ex: optimizing for genres like indie rock, dub-step, hip-hop, your band name (which might not be well searched), etc.

    Plus musicians never have the budget to outsource because we are all paying out of pocket and probably don’t have substantial income coming in from our music.

    It’s a challenge but I’d like to figure out a way to make it work for musicians especially through YouTube.

    Any thoughts?

    Love this video. Really informative. How do you deal with video ads that appear on or before YouTube videos? Do you find that they disrupt the conversion or lead gen %?
