I don’t know about you, but I love knowing what is working now…as opposed to like 5 years ago or something. Where SHOULD we be to grow our audience of raving fans?

Today we are diving into a very overlooked topic and that is growing your audience through Google+ Hangouts. I’ve got the master here – Yifat Cohen, aka the G+ Go To Gal – to get us all started with it.

In fact, since I shot this interview with Yifat, I did my first ever Hangout with Yifat hosting and a lot of you guys were there and it really was a blast. I can definitely see how it could have some big ways for you to grow your audience. You know I like testing this stuff for ya.

Put on your creativity cap and take in what Yifat has to say. I’d love to see how you use Google+ Hangouts.

Love to hear your thoughts in the comments. Have you tried Google+ Hangouts? Want to try them?

I use RISE partner Wistia for video hosting because they rock. Check ’em out.

  1. Ian McConnell says:

WOW I had no idea you could do this with Google+ hangouts. Thanks Yifat and David for the great info.

    1. David Siteman Garland says:

Me either, it was great to learn along with you!

  2. Mark Stafford says:

Hi David, wow that was awesome info. Thanks!!!

Hey quick question, what did you use to video chat making your screens side by side?

    1. David Siteman Garland says:

Hey Mark – I get that question about 4857773.5 times per day. Sign up for my free course here and it is video #3 🙂 cheers!

  3. Alexa Hart says:

LOVE this, and it’s super helpful. Very timely for me because I am going to be doing a ton of Google+ hangouts in the near future with my web show. Really excited about new Google+ opportunities!

    1. David Siteman Garland says:

Definitely! All kinds of epic opportunities!

  4. Andrew McGivern says:

We have used Goole+ Hangouts since the beginning to bring guests into The Bunker Project podcast. It has worked great. They can see the people at the physical Meetup and we can see them. Now we use Hangouts on air to live stream the show and it automatically is available on YouTube after the show. Very cool. This is our 100th episode party hangout on air >>
Anyone is welcome to join us for a show!

  5. Came back to this one after checking out Yifat’s presentation on the Talk to the Top. I wish Google would upgrade the video on the hangouts, but so far, it definitely helps to have the guests hard wire in. Even then, there’s a little lag, but at least it’s free of charge.

I’m debating on using HD Faces instead, but I like these Hangout benefits, which Yifat mentioned:

    1. We can stream from our website, which could increase interaction and traffic.

    2. Google automatically does the transcription, even if it takes a little cleaning up.
    3. The video is automatically sent to Youtube once the hangout on air is done.

Seems like a nice, streamlined process.
