I’ve got a dirty little secret I want to share with you and it might make some people totally uncomfortable and I’m totally cool with that 🙂

One of the biggest keys to success in this business is being selective with your time and being perfectly OK with the fact that you will be saying no about 99.9% of the time.

Because here is the reality…

You can’t get to everything.

You can’t have coffee with everyone.

You can’t go to every single event or join 400 masterminds.

You can’t respond to every FB message.

Well…you can…but at the expense of building your business. 

Sure, it would be nice to say yes to everything (umm…well not really…I’m trying to be extra nice here) but then you…

…won’t have time to work on your course.

…will be rushed as you work on your awesome webinar.

…won’t make it to the gym.

…won’t see your kids or significant other.

…will forget to each lunch and then feel all weird.

The reality is a 5-minute chat, a quick coffee, a 30 minute interview, etc. takes far longer than that. There is transition time. There is mental time (thinking about it).

Next thing you know your important work you SHOULD have gotten done isn’t done. It’s still on the to-do list. And that sucks.

This is what separates those who are struggling/doing “OK” vs. those that are absolutely rocking it.

So, the next time you tell someone “no” (and I’m not talking about being a rude jerkface…a polite no) don’t feel guilty or fall all over yourself…

…because by saying “no” you are saying “yes” to YOUR business.
