I’ve got a goodie for you today – PERFECT for mediapreneurs like all of us.

Robert Greene is the author of several internationally bestselling and renowned books, including Mastery (his newest – affiliate link, definitely get a copy), The 48 Laws
of Power, Art of Seduction, and The 50th Law, which was a collaboration with hip-hop artist 50 Cent.

I tracked him down and kidnapped him for you guys and picked his brain on a variety of topics, including how any of us can master our topics we write about/create content about/create products on, as well as some of his SUPER personal business decisions that has led him to success.

Enjoy!

Question, David – on his site it says that the cutoff for preorder stuff was November 8th. Is he extending this for Rise Nation? Thanks!

    1. David Siteman Garland says:

Lizzie – Let me check on this for ya

Lizzie, sure we’ll keep honoring it. Just email the address on the form and I’ll have someone send over the bonuses.

  2. Shelia says:

Great interview David. I haven’t read the book, but need to. I love his point about not giving in to what everyone else wants you to be. Also, finding your passion and really studying it to become the master – the expert. Great stuff.

    1. David Siteman Garland says:

SO true. Glad you enjoyed S!

  3. CSoncrant says:

Holy Crap! I literally just got an email from Mr. Ferris’ blog about this guy and his books, and here you are with an interview. Great minds do think alike!! Downloading the audio to listen to on my way to school now. Keep on kicken the Ass of Life señor David!

    1. David Siteman Garland says:

Great minds think alike 😉 hah

  4. Mario Sousa says:

Great interview! I guess I just figured out my next book to read. Thank you, David

    1. David Siteman Garland says:

his writing style is super unique. I love it.

  5. Great interview. Really loved the point about not making a little success about ego, but keeping true to what really drove us initially…the deeper meanings.

    1. David Siteman Garland says:

      Great takeaway

  6. mikky says:

I love his books, the 50th law was amazing and there is so much content in the 48 laws I still haven’t read it all, as captivating as it is! When I was reading them I kept on stopping to tell my husband all the interesting stories.
Thanks for writing such incredible books Robert, they will out live us all and thanks for featuring him David.

    🙂

    1. David Siteman Garland says:

      My pleasure Mikky!

  7. Lots of insight from Greene – I like the way he sees the path to mastery / success as something that can be way more winding and bumpy than we are often led to believe. I definitely have his new book on the radar.

    1. David Siteman Garland says:

Absolutely, always more clear in hindsight

  8. I’m so late on this episode. Not sure how I missed it, but I’m going to say hands down that it’s one of my favorites. I appreciate how hands on and tactical many of your interviews are, but this one resonated with me.

When Robert said he’s always been an oddball. Same here. He’s always been into history, doesn’t watch tv much, doesn’t fit into a category, etc. Boom. Same here except replace history with psychology.

So I totally agree with Robert that our 20s is to explore and 30s is often where it all comes together. I’ve always loved communications, journalism, marketing, and teaching, but it’s tough as an introvert. Now, it’s all coming together with interviews. I get to learn, teach, grow and help others without having to do all the talking.

Thank you for helping me realize this passion. It could have taken a much longer.
