Expanding Your Network: The Art of Digital Schmoozing(NOTE: This presentation is adapted from a chapter in my upcoming book, Smarter, Faster, Cheaper: Non-Boring, Fluff-Free Strategies for Marketing and Promoting Your Business, being released on December 7th.)

Ahh, digital schmoozing. My favorite phrase (well, one of them). The art of expanding your network online AND actually engaging and building relationships with people (light bulb moment).

How can we all become better at it? How can more people know, like, and trust you? And what are the top digital schmoozers doing that the rest of the online world isn’t?

The dumber, slower, expensive option for digital schmoozing is often the opposite. It is based on “building a list as fast as possible!” and then “spamming my list with all kinds of offers, coupons and products….muhahahahaha!” Small talk? I don’t think so…waste of time, right? (Spoiler alert: small talk is one of the most underrated things you can possibly do online).

In this presentation from a recent RISE Lunch, I reveal the results of a schmoozing study (if you will) that I’ve been working on for two plus years. The information comes from my personal experience of building The Rise To The Top, meeting and forming awesome relationships the most amazing people ever, over 200 interviews and literally thousands of conversations.
