I “said” this last week on Twitter: “If you aren’t having fun in your business, you are in the wrong business.”

And a lot of love and virtual high fives came rolling in.

When I was younger, I remember going with my mom to my grandpa’s office. Everything was exactly what you would expect from a traditional business: suits and ties, everyone quietly going about their work, conversations around the water cooler…you know, all that kind of stuff.

And although I was maybe 7 or 8 years old, I thought to myself: “This is business. And business is freakin’ boring.”

As I learned through my first company (pro inline hockey), business should be non-boring and fun. What is non-boring and fun? Well, that is for YOU to decide. You know you. You know what you like and don’t.

This is one of the biggest reasons I started The Rise To The Top. I wanted to spread the message that business doesn’t have to be boring and help people build passionate, interesting, fulfilling businesses by learning from others. Simple, right?
